Writing Desk to Vanity Conversion

Designer Reiko Caron presents a beautiful vanity table, perfect for organizing and displaying jewelry and cosmetics, that she created from a glass top desk. See the details of this writing desk to vanity conversion in this House & Home video:

The colors and patterns used for this project were inspired by the Marimekko for Clinique collection.

A shelf was transformed into a jewelry cushion using upholstery foam covered by pink fabric. Looking at it through the glass, it’s like having your own little jewelry shop.

The pretty and practical cosmetics tray was made from an inexpensive picture frame; the matte was replaced with a colorful graphic print fabric.

As a finishing touch, a Marimekko vessel filled with sand keeps brushes close at hand and upright.
