Vintage Master Bedroom Makeover

Rob and Corinne of the Threadbanger YouTube channel needed help with the master bedroom in their gutted 1927 fixer-upper. With five easy DIY projects in one weekend, DIY expert Monica Mangin creates a space that reflects their personal style. See the details of this vintage master bedroom makeover in this Lowe’s video:

1. A new master bedroom closet was framed out with 2×4’s and covered with pre-stained black shiplap that adds a cool weathered look.

2. The master bedroom was painted in a cream tone, then an accent wall was created by painting on a dark green rectangle.

3. Placed in front of the accent wall, the custom bench was built from oak planks and metal hairpin legs. Lightly burning the oak accentuated the wood grain.

4. DIY macrame cords were used to decorate lamp cords from several kits, creating a one-of-a-kind light fixture.

5. A faux stained glass window treatment using colored window film was applied to the closet’s barn doors.
