Victorian Kitchen Restoration

Watch how this Victorian kitchen is restored with a combination of vintage, salvaged and new materials in this DIY Network video:

As nothing in the kitchen is original, the homeowners decided to tear almost everything out, so demolition was the first step. Features of this renovation included:

  • Installation of new dry wall
  • Repair of the hardwood floors
  • Repainting the walls
  • Installation of salvaged cabinets
  • Addition of a tin backsplash

As a Victorian kitchen would not have granite or travertine countertops, butcher block was the perfect choice.

After installing new appliances, the end result is a kitchen with a modern feel but with old world charm.
