Two Ways to Size a Rug for Under a Dining Room Table
Have you ever been in someone’s dining room, pulled out a chair to sit down and find you’re “falling off the carpet” (the chair is half on and half off)? Your hosts have bought a rug that’s just too small. Learn two sure-fire ways to calculate the right size rug to go underneath your dining room table in this Smart interiors video:
1. Pull out your chair like you’re going to sit in it. You should have at least six more inches of carpet to go.
2. Add at minimum four feet to the table length and four feet to the table width. In this case, bigger is better, so buy the biggest rug that you can.
