Two-Level Tri-Functional Great Room

In the great open-concept living, dining and kitchen area in the 2018 HGTV Urban Oasis, there is room for everyone to cook, eat and hang out in style. See the features of this two-level tri-functional great room in this HGTV video:

The living area is filled with light, which makes it super inviting. Two matching green velvet sofas face each other and are situated right in front of the fireplace wall, which is covered in a whitewashed brick from floor to ceiling. There’s a modern inset gas fireplace and a flat-screen TV that doubles as art. A patterned rug adds a ton of color to the space; the washed-out reds and pastel greens were used as accent colors and add a lot of contrast to the dark sofas.

It’s just two quick steps up to the dining and kitchen area. The L-shaped kitchen opens up to the rest of the space, so you’re not cut off from any of the action. The lower cabinets, painted in a rich shade of pine green, are topped with soapstone countertops which coordinate with open stainless steel shelves that are both functional and great looking. The walls are covered in an oversized 6″ x 6″ white tile that adds great contrast and a more modern feel as a backdrop to this industrial space. There’s also a suite of high-end appliances and even a touch-free faucet. A beautiful walnut countertop on the island and two buttery-soft leather bar stools add warmth and make the space very welcoming.

On the other side of the kitchen is the dining area. The round table adjacent to the bay of windows creates great traffic flow in this open-concept space, and the whitewashed wicker-style slipper chairs provide lots of textural interest. An oversized light fixture anchors this area and delineates it from the rest of the room.
