Transformation of a Garage Into an Indoor/Outdoor Kitchen

It’s common for a garage to be converted into a multipurpose man cave, but we love the transformation of this garage into a combined indoor/outdoor kitchen and home office for an expanding home-based cooking business in this HGTV video:

The homeowners, Seth and Samantha, wanted to turn their cluttered garage into a multipurpose space. Samantha is the founder of Kitchen Kid, a global cooking school for kids and family. Recognizing the limitations imposed by a cramped guest bedroom, they wanted a place where the business could grow and expand.

Features of this makeover include:

  • Deck with a vertical vegetable garden boardwalk with 36 varieties of edible plants.
  • Replacement of the living room wall with contiguous glass doors that open out onto the deck.
  • Conversion of the garage into a space that serves as a studio, classroom and indoor/outdoor kitchen with a new desk and filing cabinet, stone kitchen benchtop, table with seating, shelving and storage cabinets.
