Tips to Make Your Bookcases Shine

While styling a bookcase may look like a designer art form, it’s really not that hard. Designer Tiffany Brooks shares tips to make your bookcases shine in this HGTV video:

Start by considering the bookcase itself. Is it painted to match the rest of the room? Or do you want to make the backdrop pop by painting it a different color or adding a punch of wallpaper?

In terms of the orientation of the books, you can run them horizontally, vertically or both. The look does not have to be uniform; a shelf can consist of all books, all decor items or a mix of both. You can then bring in accessories like a small vase, a framed art piece, a small photograph or a large bowl.
