Tiny Flowers that Make a Big Impact

Sometimes the tiniest little blooms can pack the biggest punch. They can be quite a surprise, particularly when they’re delivered in multitude and constellate with other flowers. Learn about tiny flowers that make a big impact in this P. Allen Smith video:

When you’re thinking about creating a container, think about color, but also think about texture and how that texture might be delivered through the contract of larger flowers and tiny micro-blooms. Here are some varieties to consider:

  • Lobularia ‘White Knight’ is quite dense, and it’s quite an improvement from the old-fashioned sweet alyssum in that it flowers all the time, producing large quantities of white blooms. It is very cold and heat tolerant.
  • Euphorbia ‘Diamond Frost’ is another annual that produces white flowers. Its cousin, ‘Diamond Delight’, has double flowers and is even more compact.
  • Lobelia ‘Sky Blue’ is a classic choice for hanging baskets. This cascading compact plant has beautiful blue flowers that bloom from spring through fall.
