Scandinavian-Inspired Family Home

The design of this Scandinavian-inspired family home incorporates pavilion-like structures that interact with each other. Its dark siding complements the surrounding greenery during the warm months and contrasts against the snow during the cold months. Exterior stone walls anchor the space as well as provide privacy. The combined laundry room/mudroom, the common entry point for guests, has a polished concrete floor and lots of storage. A large granite propane fireplace is the focal point in the living room, which has large windows, comfortable kid-friendly furniture, and heated floors. The kitchen has floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, a large island, and a combined bar area and butler’s pantry. There is a dedicated kids’ play space for watching movies and playing video games. A massive window allows unobstructed mountain views in the principal bedroom, while transom windows allow unobstructed views of the sky into the principal bathroom which is a wet room. Other features include the kids’ bedrooms, a courtyard, an out building with a bar and lounge area, and the outdoor living space which includes a large covered porch, deck area and smaller side porch.
