Rustic Multi-functional Living Room

Tall ceilings, tons of natural light and a sophisticated color palette welcome you into the rustic multi-functional living room in the 2015 HGTV Smart Home. See the details in this HGTV video:

It’s all the little details that make this living room both functional and stylish. The biggest attraction is actually the outside view, with a massive sliding door opening to the outdoor living area, and the color palette inside reflects the outside view. The stunning focal wall is framed out from the same cedar that’s seen outside. An upcycled industrial frame fitted with new mirrors is a great accent piece. A comfortable sofa with fun accent pillows and a pair of occasional chairs continue the gray and camel color scheme. A sleek leather wingback chair accented with nail heads adds a bit of sophistication to this space.

A giant ottoman covered with faux cowhide is a nod to the home’s Austin location. Hidden inside is all the bedding to turn this living room into a spot for overnight guests thanks to the sleeper sofa.

The room has been expertly designed so the massive 72-inch smart TV sits on the wall without being an eyesore. A cedar-clad niche is recessed just enough to allow the TV to go undetected until you’re in the room. Large windows flank the TV, allowing light to pour into the room. Floor-to-ceiling drapes hang on dark rustic rods, accentuating the ten-foot high ceilings. Faux longhorn skulls remind you once again that we’re in Texas.

Wood and metal accents add another layer of interest on the coffee table and the mix of side tables. Warm and inviting, rustic and stylish, this living room has it all.
