The Beauty of Roman Window Shades
Today’s roman window shades combine the classic beauty of a fabric window treatment with modern technology. You have more fabrics then ever to choose from and much better lift systems to operate your roman shades. Roman shades can look very tailored and modern or very traditional depending on what fabric you choose. All manufacturers offer top down/ bottom up and continuous cord loop lifts as well as the traditional cord system. Roman shades tend to be more expensive than some window treatments, but the look of richness makes them worth it. Fabric roman shades are made with or without liners, so they tend to be a little heavier than some treatments.

Roman window shades are beautiful and stylish in many types of homes, but they cannot be made to fit some of the custom shaped windows that cellular shades can. Roman shades, because they are fabric and have wider folds, need more stacking space. It is a good idea to have a wider valance with them and mount them a few inches above the window opening if possible. With inside mounting, you will need to plan on a few inches more window being blocked when they are up. The beauty of roman shades outweighs the limitations in most cases. They are a window treatment worth considering.
