Renovated European-Style Cottage
Opening up the main level and introducing natural materials created a seamless indoor-outdoor connection in this renovated European-style cottage on the shores of Lake Muskoka. The kitchen is clad with a stone veneer and has white oak cabinetry, a granite-topped island, marble countertops, a coffee bar, gas powered sconces, and integrated paper towel holders. A wood burning stone fireplace is the focal point in the living room which has a clear pine ceiling, a bar area, two facing sofas, two chairs, an off-center TV, and large sliding glass doors lead out to the deck. The front hall has a heated Italian porcelain stone floor and closets for clothing and shoes. Elimination of a screened in porch allowed for the creation of a principal suite consisting of a bedroom, walk-in closet and ensuite. The kids’ bedrooms were designed to grow along with them, and they are connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom. Other features include guest bedrooms, a guest bathroom with a bathing suit drying station, and a laundry room with a walk-out to the deck. Take the tour in this House & Home video:
