Open Concept Main Floor with Artistic Design Elements

The main floor in this home was very dark, and the homeowners wanted large windows and an open floor plan that would create an easy gathering space that’s more functional for a young family. See the features of this open concept main floor with artistic design elements in this House & Home video:

The entryway leads to a beautiful architectural staircase which has a stained glass window original to the home. A fun hook panel and a wall-hung custom cabinet provide a drop zone. Marble hexagon tile feathers into the white oak planks of the main floor.

A floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall window provides a great view from the dining area. The 14-foot long island has a honed marble countertop with a waterfall edge that provides lots of prep space, an eat-in counter with four stools, a sink and a dishwasher. A custom dog bowl and food stand were made out of the leftover marble and white oak. The adjacent family room has an asymmetrical marble fireplace and white upper and lower cabinetry that frames the TV.
