Open-Concept Great Room

For this open-concept great room, the family room was opened up to the kitchen, creating a nice, warm, inviting space for entertaining. See the features in this House & Home video:

Inspired by a New York boutique hotel, the great room has a neutral color scheme with white walls, beautiful reclaimed floors, a marble fireplace and touches of black metal and industrial decor. The wood paneling, shelving and bookcases (including a wine area) in the family room carries through into the kitchen, and you can see directly through the shelving from one room to the other. The entertainment console in the family room is low enough that it can double as seating.

The kitchen has a full-size fridge and pantry with additional storage running up to the ceiling. In lieu of upper cabinets, a Caesarstone backsplash and shelf and the addition of wall sconces creates a beautiful display area. The long narrow island with its Caesarstone countertop was extended with a raw edge walnut breakfast table. NanaWalls in both rooms open up to the outside.
