Open-Air Industrial Bookshelf
It’s easy to transform a garage shelving unit into an open-air industrial bookshelf. This House & Home video walks you through this DIY project:
This bookshelf started as an inexpensive shelving unit. The particle board shelving packaged with the unit was replaced with veneer plywood that was cut to size. After smoothing out the edges with sandpaper, MinWax pre-stain wood conditioner was applied. The plywood was then painted with two coats of MinWax wood finish in ebony followed by finishing oil. The bookshelf was assembled and outfitted with collectibles, books and magazines in wire bins to enhance the industrial look.
