Off-the-Grid Earthship Home

This off-the-grid earthship home is almost an act of rebellion – a rebellion against trash, wastefulness and convention. Built from a mix of old car tires and rammed earth, the home has two rainwater tanks, solar panels and a septic system; PVC cooling tubes help regulate the indoor temperature. A full-length greenhouse does double-duty as a hallway that connects all of the rooms and serves as a buffer zone for the temperature. Lined with multiple colorful bottle walls, the spacious interior has a lounge, kitchen with pantry, island and breakfast bar, laundry space, bathroom with soaking tub, vanity and flushing toilet, and two bedrooms.
