Multipurpose Loft Space

The low-clearance loft in the 2015 HGTV Urban Oasis presented a design challenge. See how it was turned into a multipurpose space in this HGTV video:

The loft features a really cool-looking industrial railing. Furniture choices were limited as a ladder is the only means of access, plus there was a lack of vertical space. Round cocktail tables allow you to maximize the number of people that can be seated around them. Poufs, throw blankets, floor cushions and throw pillows provide seating in lieu of chairs. People can come up to the loft to gather, read, do homework or take a nap; it’s also an excellent place to host kids’ sleepovers on the weekends. Painting the floors a shade of ultra-white allows the nearby light sources to bounce off the floors and make it less dark.

The take-away is that if you get creative with the types of furniture you use to bring a hard-to-furnish space to life, you really can make use out of just about anything.
