Multi-Purpose Bunk Room

In the bunk room in the 2017 HGTV Urban Oasis, there are spaces for sleeping, reading, working and relaxing, making it a high-functioning room that can be used daily. See the features of this multi-purpose bunk room in this HGTV video:

This bunk room is stylish and playful with orange as the main accent hue, reflecting the house’s location in Knoxville, home of the University of Tennessee. Orange can be seen in different intensities in the drapes, the desk chair, and different accents throughout the room.

The workspace is super-functional for guests. Hanging above the desk is a painting of a local iconic landmark, the Sunsphere, which adds character to the space. There’s a mid-century vibe going on in this room as well, with a walnut desk, a wooden chair with leather upholstery, and walnut bookshelves.

Custom built-in bunk beds are set apart from the rest of the room architecturally by being wrapped in shiplap. The integrated ladder is functional and also fits right into the design without taking up any floor space. Since the beds are colorful and preppy, they will work perfectly for kids, teens or even adult guests. Each bed also has its own storage shelf, perfect for lighting, alarm clocks, or charging your phone.

Overhead, a huge Scandinavian light fixture helps illuminate the space, and it almost doubles as sculpture.
