Mountain Modern Great Room

From the moment you enter the massive great room in the 2019 HGTV Dream Home, you can’t help but be drawn in by the beauty of the surrounding mountains. See the features of this mountain modern great room in this HGTV video:

The views outside dictated the overall color scheme, which is all about rust, gray-browns, and different shades of blue – colors you can see replicated all throughout the landscape outside.

The overall space is both grand and cozy with a lot of dramatic details. There are soaring ceilings, architectural beams with a rich, rustic texture, and a surprisingly modern floor-to-ceiling fireplace wall clad in metal. This space is also meant for entertaining, so there’s plenty of seating. The biggest piece of furniture in here is an L-shaped sectional that can seat up to nine people comfortably. The sectional is balanced by a pair of low-slung leather chairs that have an overall Scandinavian look. There’s also occasional seating with a pair of cow print stools that have an iron base.

The most striking feature is the custom-made moose sculpture which is upholstered in a very classic, Western-style fabric. A very solid rugs ground the space, and the patterned rug resembling an old saddle blanket adds personality.

Stack-back sliding doors completely open the space to the beautiful view outside and help frame the view, making it an integral part of the interior design.
