Mid-Century Modern Home with Colorful Maximalist Details

This mid-century modern home with colorful maximalist details has lots of trees, a large backyard and a pool and had space for the homeowners to grow in. Carved out of the garage, the elegant but functional mudroom has clerestory windows that bring in lots of natural light. The living room has a wall of books that is showcased like art, and the dining room has an antique marble table and a gallery wall featuring bus-themed artwork. Teak paneling separates the kitchen and banquette from the rest of the living space. Touches of humor in the color palette, artwork and sculptures create a fun vibe. The lounge provides a space for cocktails and listening to music before dinner. There are two symmetric and equally sized bathrooms. A wall was blown out to create a larger master bedroom with an adjacent dressing room. A second bedroom and the garage were converted into studio spaces. The paneled family room is a place to watch TV and is filled with found artwork and architectural drawings. Take the tour in this House & Home video:
