- Installation of a closet storage system
This makeover provided a modest $2,000 boost in value to the home; however, this new room will help sell the home within 30-60 days.
The cost breakdown is as follows:
- Windows and doors: $1,289
- Washer, dryer and plumbing: $2,150
- Build-in iron and steamer: $778
- Cabinets and countertop: $800
- Closet system: $290
- Miscellaneous: $2,225
Total cost: $7,532 (almost $2,500 under budget)
In spite of the net $5,500 loss, the homeowners felt that having a more usable and livable space was worth the time and effort.
