The homeowners had a small space and wanted to go more modern and maximize that space for outdoor living. In this situation, the layout is critical. The approach was a composition of spaces that used the entire yard with the destinations toward the corners.
Features include the following:
- Steel arbor
- Water feature with copper spout emerging out of wall into a flush water basin
- Three parallel landscaping walls 2-3 ft. high composed of smooth stucco in a southern moss color that organize the space without obscuring the whole yard
- Raised steel vegetable boxes
- Fire pit
- Barbecue area
- Sunning area
- Square and rectangular sand washed finish concrete
