Kitchen Expansion with a Scenic View

This cramped 170 square-foot kitchen had a small eat-in area, limited storage and counter space, and a tiny window, and the homeowners, now empty nesters, wanted a larger, brighter and more welcoming space. See the details of this kitchen expansion with a scenic view in this House & Home video:

The kitchen was enlarged to about 235 square feet, which allowed the installation of large windows and skylights that bring the beautiful outdoors in. A spacious island accommodates ample comfortable seating that faces the windows. There are two fixed and one vented skylight with an indoor climate sensor that automatically opens based on humidity, temperature and CO2 levels. A toned down monochromatic color palette, wood elements and quartz countertops and backsplash give the space a warm calm vibe. A coffee station, pantries, and purposeful storage throughout maximize the functionality.
