Floating brass and wood shelves were installed in lieu of upper cabinetry, and the lower cabinetry with its brass hardware is maxed out for storage with diagonal dividers for pots and pans, a tea drawer, and a snack station. A cat feeding drawer is hidden behind the toekick. Practical black granite countertops contrast with the white Carrara mosaic backsplash. Other features include the island with its walnut countertop, stainless steel sink and brass faucet, full height refrigerator, under counter freezer and the bar area with a sink and a frozen drawer. Skylights and a slider brighten the adjacent dining room, which had a large table, vintage chairs and a custom industrial style light fixture.
