1. You can’t go wrong with a classic red and green combo. Decorate a traditional garland with red ornaments and ribbons, gold stars and pine cones.

2. For something less traditional, create a winter wonderland look with an icy cool silver and blue combo. Make your own snowflakes by gluing square dowels together in a snowflake shape and applying silver spray paint.

3. Instead of real flowers, pop up some homemade poinsettias along your staircase. Trace and cut out two sizes of petals from white vinyl flashing. Fold them in half with the shiny side up and crease them halfway down the fold. Use a hole puncher to punch a hole in the tip of the uncreased end. Thread and fan out the petals. Add bling to the center using a glue gun.
