How to Stain a Concrete Patio

1. Sweep patio first to remove debris.

2. Scrub with a detergent and a stiff brush.

3. Use a pressure washer on tough stains.

4. Wearing gloves and a respirator, apply concrete cleaner and wait 20-30 minutes.

5. Scrub cleaner with broom and rinse with hose.

6. Wait 48 hours for patio to dry before applying a concrete stain.

7. Apply concrete stain with roller and brush or with a garden sprayer.

8. Wait 24 hours between coats if more are needed.

9. Add a concrete sealer to prevent fading. Apply sealer coats with a roller and let dry.
