How to Select a Bathroom Vanity

Are you looking to upgrade your vanity? Learn how to select a bathroom vanity in this Lowe’s video:

Size and Measurements: Choose a freestanding or single basin vanity to save space in a small bathroom. In a larger bathroom, a double vanity provides more storage as well as two sinks. To ensure a good fit, measure the width, depth and height of your vanity space. Typical sizes are 48-60 inches for large bathrooms and 30-36 inches for smaller ones. Be sure to leave enough clearance for entry and shower door openings. Don’t forget to make room for nearby mirrors, switches and outlets.

Plumbing: Check the plumbing location. Moving or adding plumbing to accommodate a new vanity could cost extra.

Options: You can pick a vanity with a pre-selected top or choose your own. Select from glass, metal or wood cabinet finishes. Cabinet colors can be white, black or brown, or you can paint the color of your choice. Most hardware is included, but you can customize. Choose center or widespread faucets based on the top opening.

Before installing your vanity, check the floor underneath the existing one. If there is just sub-floor, add flooring or molding to hide it.
