How to Paint a Faux Marble Wall

1. Lay down a drop cloth to protect the floor. Tape off trim and adjacent walls.

2. Prep three paint colors that range 3-5 shades apart. If thick, add 1 cup water to 1 gallon paint.

3. Defuzz a wool pad.

4. Wet the wool pad. Blot dry and fluff.

5. Apply the first paint color to the wall. Create heavy diagonal blotchy lines.

6. Repeat for all colors.

7. Prime wool pad with all paint colors.

8. Apply diagonal lines in the same direction. Tap to blend together and let dry.

9. Mix one part white paint to three parts water. This will create the veining.

10. Dip a large feather into the white paint mix and wipe off the excess.

11. Drag feather across diagonal lines. Turn and wiggle to create marble vein lines.

12. Use a dry brush to lighten and blur lines.

13. Let dry; remove tape and drop cloth.
