How to Measure for a New Door
Measuring for a new screen, security or storm door is easy. Learn how in this video by The Home Depot:
Just measure the height and width of the finished opening, which is the space defined by the existing door jamb.
Working from the outside, measure from the threshold up to the top inside edge of the jamb. Then measure the inside width from jamb to jamb.
Next, take note whether you want the door handle on the right side (right-handed) or on the left side (left-handed). Most screen, security and storm doors are reversible.
