How to Measure a Wall for Wallpaper

The easiest thing to to is to measure the length and height of the wall using a tape measure, taking into consideration any windows or openings that are there, but it’s OK to have a little bit extra for mistakes.

Most people will have 8-foot tall ceilings, but you may have 9-foot ceilings. In a double roll of wallpaper, you typically get three pieces out of that roll. The widths come in either 21 or 27 inches which are the most common, so you can take that and do the math (divide the length of the wall by the width of the paper you purchased), and then you know how many rolls to purchase.
