How to Make an Awesome Indoor Kid Fort for Next to Nothing

When it’s cold or rainy outside, it’s good for kids to have a place to play inside that’s all their own. Learn how to make an awesome indoor kid fort for next to nothing in this HGTV video:



For this DIY project you will need four 1x2x48 pieces of wood, three 1×48 dowels, a twin bed sheet, an iron, iron-on hemming tape, rope, glue and a drill with a 1-inch spade bit.

1. Drill one hole 6 inches from the top in both wood pieces.

2. Drill another hole 3 inches from the bottom in both wood pieces.

3. Sand both wood pieces well.

4. Place dowels through the holes to create the tent frame.

5. Cut the twin sheet to 96″ x 44″.

6. Secure with iron-on hemming tape 14 inches up from the bottom and along the cut sides.

7. Add the fabric to the tent frame.

8. Glue a small piece of rope on the ends to keep everything in place.
