How to Make a Stand for a Christmas Wreath

Instead of putting a hole in your wall, make a simple stand for your Christmas wreath. Learn more in this Lowe’s video:

For this project, you will need a traditional wood table leg, a Shaker oak peg and a classic post cap. Get the detailed tools and materials list and instructions here.

Start by drilling a hole 4 1/2 inches from the top of the narrow point of the table leg. Use an awl to start the hole, and then drill 3/4 of an inch deep. Then glue the Shaker peg into place and let it dry.

Next, glue the leg to the center of the post cap and let it dry. Secure with the bottom up using a clamp. Drive two screws through the cap and into the leg.

Now it’s time to keep this stand from falling over. Mix up a small batch of concrete to the consistency of peanut butter and fill the bottom of the stand until it’s nearly full. Allow the concrete to dry overnight.

Spray or stain with your favorite color, attach the rubber feet, and you’re finished.

Hang your wreath with any additional decor items and welcome family and friends home for the holidays.
