How to Make a Hummingbird Feeder
In addition to nectar-producing flowers, another great way to attract hummingbirds to your garden is by hanging an easy DIY nectar feeder. Learn how to make a hummingbird feeder in this video by Better Homes and Gardens:
1. Remove the band and lid from a canning jar.
2. Use the lid to trace a circle on a plastic office folder.
3. Cut around circle to make a disc.
4. Make holes in the plastic disc using a hole puncher.
5. To make the nectar, bring two cups of water to a boil, then add 1/2 cup sugar. Stir to dissolve and let cool.
6. Fill the jar with nectar.
7. Put the plastic disc in the hanging band and secure to jar.
8. Hang the jar on a tree branch or pole.
