How to Install a Ceiling Medallion

The Parisian chic style is where modern meets antique – with built-ins and floating art everywhere and neutrals punched up with bold colors – a look that’s both effortless and eclectic. Learn how to install a ceiling medallion and introduce Parisian chic into your home in this Lowe’s video:

For this DIY project, you will need an ornate ceiling medallion, paint that matches the color and finish of the ceiling, adhesive caulk, caulk gun, drill, and a candle-style chandelier.

1. Paint the medallion and let dry.

2. Secure the medallion for drilling with C-clamps.

3. Drill a hole on the inside rim.

4. Using a ruler or just eye balling, drull another hole on the inside rim across from the first, making sure the holes are parallel to one another.

5. Apply caulking to the raised areas. Do not cover the holes.

6. Adhere the medallion to the ceiling.

7. Drill screws to secure.

8. Install the light fixture. Consult an electrician if you need help.
