You can grow several varieties of blueberries in multiple containers. Have at least two varieties that flower at the same time to benefit from cross-pollination. Plant them in large containers with saucers underneath for drainage, feed them in the early spring and use a drip irrigation system to keep the soil consistently moist. Blueberry plants also produce beautiful spectacular foliage in the fall.
Brown turkey figs are great landscape plants. They produce large amounts of fruit and can also be grown in containers. Unless your area has extremely cold temperatures, it is not necessary to bring them in during the winter. The Chicago hardy variety fig is, as its name implies, hardy to Zone 5 and can withstand temperatures down to 0 F, although it is advisable to plant it directly in the ground as opposed to a container.
