How to Create Wall Art from Shims

You will need the following materials for this DIY project:

Wood shims
Compound miter saw
Wood clamp
Drop cloth
Spray paints
Adhesive picture hanging squares

Clamp a piece of wood in place and use as a stop. Clamp a shim up aginst the stop and make a 45 degree angle cut on one end. Repeat for all your shims.

To paint the shims, first protect your work surface with a drop cloth. Lay out the shims in a chevron pattern with the cut ends together. Spray paint them in various colors and let dry.

Arrange the painted in the pattern your want. Place sticky tabs on the back of each shim, then hang them on the wall.
