How to Create an Updated and Organized Bath Space

If your bathroom feels dated, it’s time to freshen it up. Learn how to create an updated and organized bath space in this video by The Home Depot:

Traditional Style: You want to make sure this design exudes a classic feel. Use natural materials like stone and granite on countertops and wood finishes like maple and oak for sink cabinet bases. Go for elaborate cabinetry and vintage-looking features. Complement your chosen wood pieces with a crisp shower curtain and linens to give the space a clean and tailored feel. Other things to consider adding in: real or faux plants, pendant or wall lighting, pedestal bathtubs, as well as brass or brushed nickel hardware and fixtures. Use the same finish throughout the room so that everything looks uniform.

Industrial Style: This style is a popular trend in bathroom design and works great in a space with exposed brick or pipework. Oil-rubbed bronze and brushed nickel finishes are the perfect touch. You can also mix in factory-style pendants and Edison bulbs, reclaimed wood pieces and shelving to store your toiletries.

Small Urban Style: Storage is especially important for small bathrooms with limited space. The goal is to make it functional and fabulous. The first step is to declutter your countertops and keep your grooming and personal products out of plain view. Opt for compact storage units, wall cabinets, and floating shelves or baskets to free up floor space. A glass shower enclosure will create the illusion of a bigger room; pedestal or wall-mounted sinks also give a similar effect. You can even re-position the toilet so it sits against the rear wall to open up the room.
