How to Create a Statement Wall with Crate Art
Do you have a blank wall in your home that could benefit from some love, texture and dimension? Learn how to create a statement wall with crate art in this video by The Design Network:
Putting crates on a wall and filling them with decor works with any style. There are different textures, materials, colors and sizes, so choose whatever crates appeal to you.
Set up a crate configuration that keeps the eye moving around the room. You’ll be creating a piece of art rather than a focal point. Putting three crates of the same size next to each other and spacing them consistently is a simple way to create a gallery-like effect where the eye moves with the line.
You can get more creative and mix different kinds of crates together. Keep consistent spacing between the crates to bring order into an intentional random effect. Play with your layout on the floor before mounting the crates on the wall.
Once you’ve determined your layout, attach the crates to the wall using screws and a screwdriver or drill. Fill the crates with decor like books, plants, clocks or other items. You can mount a rigid photo with twine inside a crate.
