How to Create a Staging Area
Do you need a place in your home to put the many things flowing into and out of your space? Think about designating a particular area specifically for that purpose. Learn how to create a staging area in this video by The Design Network:
Start with a countertop or a bench where you can throw your mail and your keys and drop your gifts as you come in the door. Take advantage of wall space by putting up wall hooks; they’re super accessible, making it easy to take things off and put them on.
Keep your staging area open and resist the urge to put it behind curtains or doors. If you do, it’s likely that your stuff will pile up.
Near to your staging area, consider a message center. Make sure that you have all the tools you need and that the height is right for everyone in the family to be able to reach the message center and read the messages. There also should be no items in the way of people stepping up to and using the message center.
Remember that it’s the staging area’s job to keep the rest of your house clean and tidy, so don’t get overwhelmed by the amount of stuff in this area.
