How to Create a Faux Concrete Wall

To add an industrial vibe to any room, make an accent wall with the look of concrete by using joint compound and cement colors. Learn how to create a faux concrete wall in this Lowe’s video:



For this DIY project, you will need joint compound, liquid cement color and trowels.

1. Divide the joint compound into three buckets.

2. Tint and mix three different shades of color – dark, medium and light.

3. Trowel a thick layer onto wall, starting with the darkest color.

4. Layer medium and light colors over dark base coat. You don’t need full coverage. Ridges and grooves add texture.

5. Let dry for 24 hours.
