How to Create a Cardboard Gingerbread Playhouse

Learn how to create a cardboard gingerbread playhouse using two large boxes and a little decorating magic in this HGTV video:



1. Remove one side of a box and set aside.

2. Cut a roof point on the short side.

3. Tape the bottom flaps.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 on the second box.

5. Cut a door on one side.

6. Cut a window on the other side.

7. Assemble the pieces and tape together at the door.

8. Line the door with red tape.

9. Reinforce the seams with tape.

10. Tape the back sides together.

11. Tape the reserved pieces together to make the roof and hot-glue to the top.

12. Cut out felt icicles and attach with hot glue to the roof and window ledge. Cover the roof with a craft snow blanket.

13. Cut a green pool noodle into sections and add a candy cane stripe using red tape. Attach to the top of the roof and edges of the house using hot glue.

14. Paint white paper plates with red paint to create a peppermint look and attach with hot glue.

15. Create gumdrops by cutting shapes from glitter card stock and attach with hot glue.
