How to Clean an Outdoor Grill
Keeping your outdoor grill clean will not only make your food taste better but also help your grill last longer. Brushing off a hot grill will not clean it sufficiently. Get tips on cleaning charcoal, gas and stainless steel grills and grill grates in this video from Lowe’s:
Here are some tips for cleaning any type of grill:
- Take out the cooking grates and place them in warm soapy water. Clean the grates with a stiff wire brush after soaking.
- Charcoal grills: Remove the coal grate. Brush out the inside of the drum, and then scrub the inside using soapy water and a stiff brush.
- Gas grills: Expose the burner by removing the lava rocks or briquettes. Clean out the residue and ash around the burner. Brush out the inside of the grill using soapy water. When reassembling the grill, brush off each interior part.
- Reassemble all parts and allow the grill and grates to air dry.
