How to Clean a Garage Floor

Clear out the garage space first. This is a good time to get decluttered and organized. The more you can get out of the way, the easier cleaning will be, and the better job you will do.

Use a regular broom or push broom to get all of the loose material off of the floor. To remove oil deposits or grease, apply a cleaner/degreaser. For areas where there is real discoloration, apply a full strength degreaser over the top and let it sit there for about half and hour or so, then use a good scrub brush to scrub it down. Remove chunks of paint or other dried spills with a putty knife. Give the floor a good sweeping, and then add the degreasing cleaner of your choice to a bucket of warm water and mop down the floor.
