How to Choose Planters for Your Entryway

When accenting your entryway, think about the message you want to convey. A great way to project the message of hospitality is through planters. Learn how to choose planters for your entryway in this video by P. Allen Smith:

Planters are available in every size, shape and color. When making your selection, keep in mind the area where they will be displayed. choose planters that complement the colors and the style in the setting.

Don’t think that you have to cover the entire area with plants to make it feel inviting. Just a pair of stately planter may be all you need. For groupings, cluster planters in groups of three, five or seven. Instead of using the same dimensions for all of the containers, mix up the sizes of the pots in various diameters and heights. When you place containers next to steps, they can signal to a visitor a change in elevation.

Creating a gracious front porch or entryway can be a creative adventure. Remember that your entryway is the first thing that your guests will see, so you want to make it as inviting as possible, a prelude to what’s to come – a warm heartfelt welcome.
