1. Start with two 36″ x 8″ x 3/4″ and two 22-1/2″ x 8″ x 3/4″ wood boards. Form a box and use a framing square to align the corners.

2. Mark holes at 2 inches and 6 inches on the ends of the longer boards. Pre-drill holes 3/8 inches from edge on all four sides and fasten with wood screws.

3. Add another 22-1/2″ x 8″ x 3/4″ wood board in the center of the frame to create interior shelves. Attach a 16″ x 8″ x 3/4″ shelf perpendicular to the center board. Pre-drill holes and screw together with wood screws.

4. Lay decorative panels in your preferred design on the 36″ x 24″ x 3/4″ piece of wood that will be used for the door.

5. Paint the decorative panels and set aside to dry.

6. Paint the door and desk frame and let dry.

7. Apply the panels to the door using wood glue and let dry.

8. Flip the door over with the decorative panels facing down, then line up the frame on top of it.

9. Use two cabinet hinges to connect the bottom side of the door to the inside of the frame. Mark and pre-drill holes and attach the hinges with wood screws.

10. Use drop-down hinges to connect the door to the frame. Line up the hinges with the bottom left and right sides of the door and frame. Mark and pre-drill holes and attach the hinges with wood screws.

11. Place magnet hardware on the left and right top corners of the inside of the door.

12. Attach magnet latches on both sides.

13. Close the door to the desk and mount it to the wall with hardware appropriate for the weight of the desk.
