1. Measure the dimensions of your mini-fridge; add several inches to the width and depth to allow for ventilation.

2. Sketch out your design and determine your board dimensions.

3. Cut 2x4s for the top and bottom frame per your measurements.

4. Assemble the box using wood glue and exterior wood screws. Start with the smaller bottom frame first, then assemble the top frame, which will also need a center support.

5. Cut wood for the legs.

6. Using a speed square, mark 1/2 inch on each leg, then line them up with the bottom frame and attach using glue and then wood screws.

7. Attach the top frame to the legs. Flip the assembly over onto the ground, check for square and use the glue and screw to attach the top. You want the legs and top frame to be flush with one another for a seamless look later.

8. Measure, mark and cut the 1×6 cedar boards to plank the bottom, sides and top. An overhanging bar top (about 1-1/2 inches on the front and sides) will give a traditional tabletop look.

9. Secure the bottom and back planks first, then install the side plates.

10. To finish up the assembly, install the top boards, then give the entire piece a light sanding with 220 grit paper to smooth out any rough spots.

11. Install the mini-fridge.

12. Add a few final touches like a stainless steel bottle opener, a few hooks and a towel bar to give your minibar even more functionality.

Now you’re ready to stock the bar!
