Great Room with Beautiful Views

With incredible vaulted ceilings, seating for a crowd and a gallery wall with a curious inspiration, the great room in the 2018 DIY Network Ultimate Retreat truly is the heart of this home. See the features of this great room with beautiful views in this DIY Network video:

This space was completely re-imagined and opened up to provide a ton of natural light and easy access to the outdoor spaces through two oversized accordion doors. There’s seating for seven on a plush sofa and comfy chairs accented with pillows and throws that bring in lots of texture and interest.

Overhead is a custom geometric chandelier with a bit of retro flair. A huge double-sided fireplace anchors the seating in the room and has a cool custom-made fire screen.

Just next door is a great spot for dinners of family game nights. The modern style round dining table has seating for six. Farmhouse style chairs were given a fresh coat of paint that plays off the other colors in the space.

On the other side of the room is a gorgeous gallery wall with a very specific theme; the large bird print in the middle was original to the house and was the inspiration for this fun focal point. A rustic credenza below keeps clutter out of sight.

All around the room, you’ll see touches of the outdoors brought inside to add interest, from an agate-sliced table to succulents and a pair of fiddle-leaf fig trees.

With gorgeous views, plenty of places to relax, and conversation-starting art and accessories, this great room has got it all.
