Four Ways to Upgrade Plant Containers

With a little bit of creativity, you can give old plant pots an upscale look. Learn four ways to upgrade plant containers in this video by Better Homes and Gardens:



1. Chalk-Style Painted Pots

  • Brush on white chalk-style paint and let dry
  • Brush on green chalk-style paint and let dry
  • Brush on blue chalk-style paint and let dry
  • Dilute orange chalk-style paint with water and drip on pot for a distressed look
  • Blend with a dry cloth

2. Marbled Pots

  • Spray-paint pot a neutral color
  • Spray-paint into a bucket of water
  • Dip pot into water

3. Stamped Pots

  • Paint base white and let dry
  • Paint rim gold and let dry
  • Cut triangles out of a rubber eraser
  • Glue cutout to a wood spool to make a stamp
  • Dip stamp in gold paint
  • Stamp pot in desired pattern

4. Burlap-Covered Pots

  • Measure burlap and cut to size
  • Paint on decoupage
  • Place burlap on top of pot
  • Brush decoupage on burlap
  • Repeat until pot is covered
  • Trim excess burlap
  • Hot glue edges down
