Four Elements of Beautiful Garden Design
What makes a beautiful garden and keeps it interesting all season long? There are four design elements to keep in mind: diversity, height mix, color theme and staging. Learn more in this video by P. Allen Smith:
1. Create diversity by mixing bulbs, shrubs, and annual flowers and foliage plants.
2. Stagger the heights with tall, medium and low plants.
3. Choose a color theme, like a warm palette of yellow, gold, red and orange.
4. You want your garden to bloom throughout the season, so stage your plants so that they’re blooming from spring until fall.
And don’t forget – always grow a few flowers to cut and bring into the house!
