Five Ways to Fix a Wooden Fence

A wooden fence is a great way to add privacy, safety and security to your home; over time, however, it will require repairs. Learn five ways to fix a wooden fence in this Lowe’s video:

1. Damaged posts can weaken over time and will require support. A post kit has braces that will support the post base. Drive the braces into the ground, then attach them to the undamaged section of the post.

2. Replace damaged rails and pickets.

3. Gates can sag over time, but they can be brought back to square using an adjustable kit. Attach brackets to each corner. Thread cable and attach with hardware. Tighten turnbuckle to bring the gate back to square.

4. Pressure wash the fence to remove dirt and mildew.

5. Wait 48 hours for wood to dry after pressure washing, then stain your fence with a brush or a garden sprayer.
